It’s been a while since we hosted a gig here in Ty Tawe, nevertheless there has still been a number of events over the Summer

Sesiwn Fawr

Ever since 1992 Dolgellau has held Sesiwn Fawr annually. After a small start the festival has grown and grown into one of Europe’s largest Music festivals. This year there was an immense line-up with the bands such as Daniel Lloyd a Mr Pinc, Genod Droog, The Poppies, Gwilym Morus, Mim Twm LLai, Frizbee, Euros Childs performing.

Eisteddfod

There was more than enough gigs to choose from the week of the Eisteddfod in Swansea. Bands performed on Maes B, in Bar 5 and the Glamorgan Arms organised by Cymdeithas yr Iaith and even on our own stage as Mentrau Iaith Cymru. There were performances by Tangwystl, Sibrydion, Bob Delyn a’r Ebillion, Mattoidz and many more.

Gwyl y Macs

The Macs Festival was a new festival to the Welsh Music scene held in Carmarthen on the 2nd of September. Bands such as The Poppies, Radio Luxembourg, Swci Bocsawen, Euros Childs, Kentucky AFC, Texas Radio Band to name but a few. The festival was successful and we hope that it will go from strength to strength.

Lawnsiad DYC2

Dan y Cownter 2 is a brand new CD which features 10 songs chosen by Huw Stephens, the Radio 1 and Radio Wales DJ. The CD, which includes hip hop, folk, rock and pop tracks, with familiar names such as Radio Luxembourg and the Sibrydion, was launched during the Eisteddfod in Swansea.
